Three Gorgeous Women

OK, here's an entry where I'm not whining about being single or god forbid another male bashing story. Here are three women that I think are outstanding. Hopefully this gets me back on the good side of the guys who read my blog.

First, someone I've already mentioned, Jennifer Garner. She's got a rockin' body, a beautiful smile and kicked ass in "Alias". Hey Michael Vartan, you really screwed up! :)

Second, Penelope Cruz. Normally, I can't stand the Latino women because they are perfect no matter what they do: long, dark hair, smooth, tan skin and that killer accent that guys love. But, Penelope takes the cake. Plus, she's with one America's hottest guys: Matthew McConaughey! Way to go, Penelope!!

Last, but certainly not least: Adrianne Curry. She ran away with "America's Next Top Model Season 1" and she shocked every girl by bagging Peter Brady. A midwest girl with an rock star attiutde, Adrianne reminds me a little of myself.

Well there you go boys...enjoy the eye candy :)

Brad Pitt and Old Friends

First of all, I would like to say that they reason most of us girls that are around 30 years old are jaded about relationships and men in general (ok, maybe it's just me) is becuase of guys like Brad Pitt. One of the better looking guys who was easily snatched away from his equally as gorgeous wife, Jennifer Aniston, by another beautiful but younger woman, Angelina Jolie. That's right, I'm really not blaming Angelina because it does take two and she was not the one married, Brad was. Jennifer probably trusted him completely as he left to go film the movie "Mr. and Mrs. Jones" with Jolie. The last thing we girls would want to do is show an ounce of insecurity before a boyfriend or husband goes off on a trip with another hot chic. So I'm sure she didn't but she should have! Things do happen for a reason and I'm sure it's all for the best. Brad and Angelina won't be together very long, as most of us know. Why would you as Angelina stay with a guy who cheated on his wife with you?? Anyways, this is part of the reason why I am jaded. I don't base all my decisions and feelings on actors and movie stars but stuff like that happens in real life too and it's easier to compare with the beautiful people.

So, on to personal things in my life. I am going on vacation in about a week to Orlando for about four days. I was born there and lived there before I moved to Colorado. I have a bunch of friends that I have lost touch with down there because of distance etc. I just talked to one of my friends, Javier, who I haven't spoke to for a while but he makes more of an effort than I (thanks, Javi!). We caught up on gossip. I found out that a guy that I was kind of seeing down there is now married! He got married about a year after I left FL. He was a great guy and the girl that has him is a lucky chic. But, I can't wait to go to FL and lay by the pool. Hopefully, the weather is good!!

My Boss

One of the things I like about having a blog is that I can write things about people who I know will never read my bloog. The youngster is one of them and my boss is another. I won't make this a long rant but I need to vent.

I love my boss. She's a pretty cool chic. She just turned thirty so we are about the same age. She's worked at the hotel now for 7 years. This is her first year as a manager...and clearly, she's not manager material. First of all, she won't train anyone but gets frustrated when people do stuff the wrong way. My theory? You better train your ass off so people know how to do their job so it takes pressure off of your shoulders. Second, she's negative about most things. I've always been of the mind that if you're positive about things, life will be much easier and less stressful. Last thing, she's really judgemental. Even though she smokes pot every day after work, I get the condescending look if I even mention that I've gone out and had a few drinks.

We both have the same background: only children, born in FL, raised in the Midwest. But she went through her wild streak before I did (try drinking and smoking at 15) and she never went to college. I guess I'm lucky that this is my winter job and that I don't have base the rest off my life on a dead end front desk job. Ok, I'm done : )

The Youngster

Well, the boy was a little miffed that I hadn't contacted him over the past two days. I texted him this morning and let him know that I was still alive. He came in tonight as he was going to work, vitamin C in hand since he knew I had a cold. Of course, I'm on my second day of my vitamin regiment so I declined the extra mgs of C. I was told that the ball is in my court for the phone call now. Guess he won't be hearing from me : ) I know, I'm horrible. I don't call guys! My parents always told me, "Nice girls don't call boys!" And after harassing a few boyfriends when I was between 19-23, I learned my lesson. I don't need 'em. I don't care what you're doing, when you ate, what you ate, when you pooped and if you've got to poop (by the way, Oversized Ben, I don't care about your bowel movements either yet I continue to read your blog). I have enough of my own crap to deal with (no pun intended). A 5 minute courtesy call every other day is just fine with me. I'm a harsh and grizzled individual, as my dad would say. That's just me. Again, why I'm probably still single. Well, I'm about out of work so I better wrap it up.

I thought nobody loved me : (

For a couple of days I've been wondering, "Why don't have any comments? Doesn't anybody love me anymore?" Normally, I get emails letting me know I have new comments but I hadn't so I just decided to peek at my unmoderated comments. You do like me, you really do!! So, comments are posted!! Yeah!! So I'm watching "There and Back" on MTV. I helps me get over not being able to watch "Making the Band 3". I know, I'm lame but I used to think O-Town was so cool, because I was living there when they were popular. The boys were cute now they're all broke and out of work. This show is about Ashley Parker Angel, who I thought was the cutest, of course. Anyways, I didn't call the boy back today, I didn't go to my boss's birthday party and I didn't even leave the house! But I did clean the bathroom, did laundry and now you can actually see my floor. Woo hoo! I also started taking vitamins today. I am taking a multi-vitamin, vitamin C, super B complex, biotin, fish oil and a couple of other things. I feel stronger already : ) I'm so amped I found the comments!!

Just one of those days...

I think I'm finally recovering from this vicious cold that I've had for a couple of days. My friend and boss, Julie, has a b-day party tomorrow so I'm laying low tonight. I went grocery shopping tonight. I stood in line at Wal-Mart for about a half an hour. Ridiculous!! Anyways, I kinda had plans with the young boy tonight. He called 3 times but I didn't return or answer any of his calls. Yeah, I know, I should have at least called but I hate turning people down so I flake out and avoid instead. Oh well, I'll call him tomorrow. This why I don't have a boyfriend!! I can't commit!!

I bought some of my favorite foods at the grocery store tonight: apples and cheese. They both go along great with popcorn!! My family used have this tradition that when there was a good movie on TV, we would make popcorn, apples and cheese. The different textures, different tastes and the overall yumminess of each food made it a perfect snack. Top it off with a large soda of your choice and it was heaven when I was between the ages of 7 & 23 :) Over the years though, my family and I has tightened up a bit, gotten healthy, and those cheesey, appley, popcorny nights have fallen to the wayside. I still revive the tradition on my own, in a smaller dose. Try it sometime!! Well, I'm in the middle of watching one of my "Alias" Netflix, so I gonna get back to it. Late :)

If you don't like what you hear, turn it off!!

So I laid in bed with my massive head cold and watch Larry King Live last night. Howard Stern was the guest and promoting his satellite radio show on Sirius. My dad will be so disappointed when I say this but he also respects my opinions because he knows I'm smart and can make my own decisions. I like Howard Stern. I may not think all of his topics are something I want to listen to but I think he's funny, I think he's a pioneer and I think overall he is a good and decent human being standing up for what we as Americans should all be fighting for: our right for free speech.

If we continue to let organizations like the FCC stifle peoples' voice, opinions and ideas, what else will they do? Will they take away my right to vote? That's in the Constitution along with free speech. My opinion is that if you don't like what you hear, turn it off! It's not like Howard Stern shoved his show in people's faces or we were forced to listen to him on our morning commute to work. We chose to turn on the radio and listen. Some mornings, I was disinterested or didn't want to listen to what he was saying so I changed the channel. My right to choose to turn him off and censor myself. I don't need someone else telling me what I can and can't listen to.

I wonder if he will be as popular now that he can freely say what he wants, though. Kinda like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The fruit was forbidden therefore more desired to the point of losing everything to taste the forbidden fruit. Now that Stern can say and do anything, will we as a selfish and hedenistic society still be drawn to that fruit that is no longer forbidden. Only time will tell...

Tribute to my name and blog title

Sitting at work wishing I would have eaten some food before I took the Tylenol Cold and the Vicodin. Not because it hurts my tummy but I'm a little bit of a space cadet right now. So I guess Combos and almonds are going to have to do for dinner. Kinda fun to listen to ambient, trip-hop music in this state though : )

As I hope most of you have figured out, that's not a head shot of me in my profile. That's the beautiful Jennifer Garner as Sydney Bristow from the now off-air show "Alias". I got into watching "Alias" in the last month or so thanks to Netflix. You really have to start from the very beginning of that show to understand anything in the shows to follow. Very complex plot and storyline. I think Garner is awesome. And she kicks so much ass in the show. Why she is with goofball chubbo Ben Affleck, I'll never know. And Michael Vartan really f---ed up in the relationship department with her, too. Despite those down notes, she's my hero and eventual body double. Wow, is she ripped in these photos. Only a year more to go of 200 cruches a night!!

Criss Angel...what a freak...in' hot guy!

So we had blue skies today in the Vail Valley. Absolutely gorgeous! Cold, but beautiful! Another boring day at work though. Not very many people in house at my hotel and I don't get paid until tomorrow so I can't shop on line. I just window shop but it's nice to know you have money in your account if you actually want to buy something : )

I was watching bad late night TV last night and ran across one of my favorite A&E shows, MindFreak. This is a show about a guy named Criss Angel who travels the US freaking people out with street magic. One, magic is a lie. We all would love to believe that someone actually sold their soul in trade for the powers to do things unimaginable. But in all truth, magic is crap. I love watching and can't help watching because Criss Angel is gorgeous (minus that lisp he has). Two, we are all so gullible. We want to believe it's true and this gorgeous Adonis would never lie to us to profit himself. Right?? WRONG! That belief along with the pretty package on A&E and the 1000's of dollars socked into tricks normal people can't afford works wonders on the mind. But, I encourage you to take the time, find the show on A&E (Wednesdays 10pm/9c) and take a peek. Girls, you won't be disappointed. It's the long hair that gets me!

Greg Kinnear, Starbucks, and stupid drivers!!

**First of all, I would like to stand corrected and state that from what I have researched, Greg Kinnear is NOT gay. Hopefully this rumor doesn't make it to Hollywood (not that it would matter). Sorry for the misinformation.

So I'm standing in line at the Starbucks by my house and when I get up to the counter, I am faced with a tip jar. Why is there a tip jar at Starbuck's? I could understand if it was a small locally owned coffee shop where they only had a few workers. But a chain store as big as Starbucks?? I'd be interested in knowing how much they make hourly as a wage. I would guess around this area (Vail) they make $10-$12 an hour and then plus tips. Must be nice.

Also, I was driving home last night and the roads are treacherous!! Alot of snow. I am following the car in front of me about a car length and a half and there is a minivan right on my ass. We get up to this crosswalk light about a half mile from my house and the minivan proceeds to pass me on the shoulder only to take up the space between the car in front of me and my car. Why was this necessary!!! So as any sane minded person with the latent road rage gene, I turn on my brights. The minivan slams on his brake, not once, not twice but three times. Wasn't he the one that cut me off?? To that A--hole in the gray minivan, here's the middle finger!!!

Funny sayings that make my tummy hurt!!

So my friend Gretchen finally got into town. I love that chic. We sat a chatted last night at the Sandbar. I had a couple beers but apparently, she's had a bad case of the blow chunks and had to go to the emergency room right before she got here, so she wasn't drinking. But thank goodness she's getting better, good enough to hang at a bar anyways.

So we were sitting chatting about different stuff and almost falling off our bar stools laughing. First of all, we were talking about when I first met her a year ago and we were hanging out with this guy who she's kinda dating now. At that time we were all attempting to quit smoking. Yeah right. Anyways, Micah lit up and I was like, "How's quitting smokin' going for you?" And then he says, "Well, I'm chewing Nicorette gum while smoking, what do you think??" Oh my gosh, hilarious!

Then I told her a story about the roommate of the youngin' I'm kinda dating right now. We were telling stories about first dates and Ken, Greg (the youngin)'s roommate said he was on a first date with this girl who asked Ken where he was from. Ken said he was from Rhode Island. She asked, "Where is that?" Ken proceeded to tell her it was somewhere south of Colorado Springs : ) The girl was like, "Cool, I've been down there before but I never been through Rhode Island." Needless to say, Ken didn't call her after that date. Wow!!

And finally, Gretchen and I chatted privately in the bathroom about the baby that I'm dating. She's like, "Jen, I like him. He's cute and really nice." I was like, "Gretl, guess how old he is? He'll be 23 in 3 days," I said. Gretl exclaims, "He's brand new!!" To which I doubled over laughing. "He's not tainted!" To which she did her best she did her best Mr. Burn's impression, "Excellent!" I love you, Gretl!!!

Overall, my NYE sucked. Too many things to explain why it sucked, it just did. I'm so glad it's 2006 and I can start off with what I feels is a clean slate. Happy New Year everybody!!

Happy 2006!!! (and why am I always the last to know?)

Thank goodness 2005 is almost over!! I only have to work until 10pm and then I am going to wrestle the amatuers for a spot at the bar at Billy's Island Grill. Actually, it shouldn't be that bad since it's not a bar but just a restaurant. Anyways, my friend Mike D. is actually making the trek to Edwards to celebrate. God forbid he come visit me in Edwards. The one night I'm in Vail, he's going to be in Edwards. Boys SUCK!!! My Giants are playing tonight!! Hopefully they beat the Raiders to win the NFC East first time since 2000. My friend Gretchen comes in on Monday!!! YEAH!!! I went out with a 22 year old the other night, two dates!! Come on 2006, maybe this year will be better. Oh by the way, why didn't know that Greg Kinnear was gay??? Really?? No wonder I think he's hot!! Blog ya next year!!

Am I wrong to laugh??

So I went out this week and saw the movie, "The Ringer". Oh my goodness!! It was hilarious!! Johnny Knoxville was great in it and it wasn't near close to stepping over the line of being politically correct (not that I care). All of the humor was in good taste and poked fun at Johnny's character rather than the Special Olympics. Go fo gold, Jeffy!! I highly recommend it!! But thank goodness Christmas is over and we are almost into 2006. I'll be so glad when this year is over!!! Come on 2006!!! ***by the way, what a sexy pic of J.K. I might have a crush on him...

Again with the FOMO!!

Alright, my FOMO is pallipable!! It's Christmas Eve and still not a drop of alcohol for me this weekend. Which is ok I guess, I don't feel crappy like I normally would on a Saturday. Just thought I would pay homage to a few of my favorite blogs on Blogger. You guys keep me entertained while I sit here and pass the hours reading. Just add .blogspot.com to the words in parentheses : )

1) Haiku Movie Reviews (haikumoviereviews)
-this blog is so fun, and Christopher and Brook even let me contribute!

2)Memoirs of an Oversized Canadien (benmyers29)
-this guy made a comment on my blog first but I love reading his blog now!

3) Cooper Lowenthal (cooperlowenthal)
-I ran across this blog by next blogging, super cool gay guy from Connecticut who probably doesn't know I exist anyways :)

4)Confessions of a Go Go Dancer (go-go-boy)
-lifestyle ala "Queer As Folk" and a really great writer with fun stories

5)I'm Not Too Obessesed (imnotobsessed)
-this chic is hilarious and has a lot of pictures on her blog (and we both hate Tom Cruise)

So these are my hotspots during my boring front desk life from 4pm to 12am at the Park Plaza. Read and enjoy!!
By the way I love "Happy Bunny" magnets! This picture is one of my recent purchases!!

I HAVE FOMO!!!

My old roommate Lisa came up with this acronym:

Fear
Of
Missing
Out

It's Friday night, the weekend of Christmas and I am stuck working 4pm - 12am the next three days. Again, why I will be doing shots on Dec. 26th. I was just really rude to my friend, Mike D., because he called and asked what I was doing. We were supposed to go see a Grateful Dead tribute band tonight at the Sand Bar but instead, I'm here trying to read people's mind at my job. What's the temperature outside? Why doesn't my wireless computer working??AARRGGHH!!! And I'm straving and the Asian restaurant across the way won't let me order any Pad Thai for take-out : ( Should I go out tonight after work?? And deal with all of the drunk people at Finnegan's?? Probably not. Merry F---ing Christmas!!

I think he's cute, I can't help it!!!

Alright, I don't know what it is but I think Seth Green is a hottie!! I know my guy friends are going to give me such crap for this but I love him, I can't help it!! Sure I'm probably taller than him by a mile and yeah he's got crazy red hair most of the time, and ok he looks like he's twelve but there's just something about him. I have this "friend" Mike W.* who I haven't seen in 5 years and this is how I picture him in my head. He looks like Seth Green!!! I guess I'll find out in about a month when I see him. So guys, let me gush a little and don't make too much fun.

*NY Mike for those of you who read regularly

Katie Holmes has been brainwashed...shame on you Tom!

First of all, I think Scientology is weird. I've read about it and it sound like a bunch of hocus pocus if you ask me. Silent birth?? Really?? Bunch of horse hockey!! Second, why don't I know anyone who's a Scientologist?? Because it's a hyped up, glamourized version of the occult that movie stars such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta have made popular. Lastly, poor little ex-Dawson's Creek star, Katie Holmes, has been duped into believing this load of crap. Like a lamb led to the slaughter, I think. She's going to wake up one day and her kids are going to be wearing masks, she'll only be able to make phone calls at a certain time during the day and Tom will be off flying his private jet to a secluded Scientology compound where I can only guess what happens there. My point: I think Scientology is the biggest lie ever...and weird (as I mentioned before).

Tribute to Johnny Depp

So this is my tribute to the great actor, Johnny Depp. From his portrayal of Hunter S. Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to recreating the drug dealer, George Jung in Blow, Depp never ceases to amaze me with his chameleon like persona. Characters such as Jack Sparrow and Willy Wonka fail to disappoint me and make me appreciate his talent even more. At 42, he is the embodiment of class, hard work and eccentricity. I love you, Johnny!!
