If you don't like what you hear, turn it off!!

So I laid in bed with my massive head cold and watch Larry King Live last night. Howard Stern was the guest and promoting his satellite radio show on Sirius. My dad will be so disappointed when I say this but he also respects my opinions because he knows I'm smart and can make my own decisions. I like Howard Stern. I may not think all of his topics are something I want to listen to but I think he's funny, I think he's a pioneer and I think overall he is a good and decent human being standing up for what we as Americans should all be fighting for: our right for free speech.

If we continue to let organizations like the FCC stifle peoples' voice, opinions and ideas, what else will they do? Will they take away my right to vote? That's in the Constitution along with free speech. My opinion is that if you don't like what you hear, turn it off! It's not like Howard Stern shoved his show in people's faces or we were forced to listen to him on our morning commute to work. We chose to turn on the radio and listen. Some mornings, I was disinterested or didn't want to listen to what he was saying so I changed the channel. My right to choose to turn him off and censor myself. I don't need someone else telling me what I can and can't listen to.

I wonder if he will be as popular now that he can freely say what he wants, though. Kinda like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The fruit was forbidden therefore more desired to the point of losing everything to taste the forbidden fruit. Now that Stern can say and do anything, will we as a selfish and hedenistic society still be drawn to that fruit that is no longer forbidden. Only time will tell...

I love Howard and I have been considering getting a Satelite radio. Censorship is disgusting, our countries have been built on freedom unless what you are saying might offend someone.
